The swing and the rockers are about seven years old. They are still in good shape, the wood has just kind of darkened. When they were brand new, I used Thompson's Water Sealer with color in it. It's held up very well but I want them to have a pretty golden brown oak color. How should I go about doing this? I've heard that you can spray Easy Off on the wood furniture on a hot day and that the varnish would peel off that way but that sounds kind of bad. I'd like to know of an easy way to redo the porch furniture. I'm just wondering if I will have to sand them down and stain and polyurethane them or if I can skip some of the sanding? How complicated is this job going to be for me?

i bought this children's swing at a yard sale for my dad for father's day. it's just like an adult's wooden porch swing only little, for kidsl When i gave it to him, i could tell by the look on his face that he was not impressed. I actually wondered about 2 weeks ago whatever happened to it. Talked to my sis today, she said her husband had just fined hanging a child's swing in the yard, didn't know where it came from. for some reason, i told her the deal. she was like, well how do you know it's the same one? yeah, right. that's just killin me. i thought about it a couple of weeks ago, wondered what happened to it, and then i find out it's in her back yard and she's like, "well how do u know it's the same one?" right. right, sherry, right.

We are planning to buy Zachary a wooden swing set for his 3rd birthday.(in May) His little brother or sister is due the month after that. I think he will be big enough to really enjoy it!!! It also has a little 'club' house in the bottom--so cute!!! I cannot wait to sit on my front porch, holding the baby and watching Zachary play on his swing :) So how old was your child and what did they think of it? no i only ever Thumbs Up people that take the time to answer my questions unless it is a cruel remark---but only thumbsed up here :) we have one of the baby swings that you can attach to the swingset or porch. We had it up on the porch for zach when he was a baby and i plan to take one of the seat swings off the new set and putting the baby swing up for the new baby when it is big enough to enjoy it :)

My Front Porch My Front Porch, a place i call home. Everything around it is beautiful. The flowers in the front yard, And the old wooden swing that sits to the left. The world around it sounds like a jungle, Rather than a backroad through a forest. I listen to the water drip from the trees, and the birds singing as they pass by. As i sit here and listen, everything else goes away. No problem could distract me from the peace and beauty of this forgotten place. I sit here and cherish every sound, spot, and memory, As i escape from the reality. Somedays the thunder rolls back in the trees. Others the sun shines through the windows bright. But everything stays in place, Just makes everything alright. When i have nothing to do, And the big brick house isnt good enough, I walk down the hallway and to the left To my front porch, a place i call home. please tell me your honest opinion on this. thank you.
